About Renae

Sifting through my mom’s vase collection, clipping blooms barefoot in the backyard, and putting together an arrangement to share with someone I love was the beginning of my passion for flowers.

In October of 2016 I began Alice Hatch Floral out of my home in Hudsonville with the encouragement of friends, family, and my own hopes of becoming a legitimate florist. I have been incredibly blessed to learn from other florists and a stint working part time at a flower shop (hey friends at Stem’s Market!). In the fall of 2018 I left that job to focus solely on growing my own business and finding my niche in the market. I have loved working with many brides and event teams, teaching floral design classes, and creating giftable holiday arrangements. I have dreams of someday working out of a studio or shop but I’m extremely grateful to be able to work out of our house at this stage in my family’s life.

I’m married to Al and we have two boys, Andrew and Easton. We love hosting friends and family, outdoor adventures both near and far, and dance parties in our living room. We also added a black lab named Jack to our family in May of 2020 (pandemic puppy?!) who brings us so much laughter and joy.

Why the name Alice Hatch Floral? I grew up on Alice Street in Zeeland Michigan where I had free reign of my parent’s garden. My grandparents owned a storage building we called “the hatchery” which had a massive lilac tree which yielded countless blooms every spring of my childhood.

I believe flowers are one of God’s most precious gifts for us to enjoy. My hope and prayer is that others will be blessed by the beauty of flowers and the joy in sharing them.
